FAQ
What is your style?
I am a timeless, documentary style wedding and lifestyle photographer.
I am infatuated with colour and contrast and this is how I choose to preserve your memories, real colours, teeming with life and vivid black and white portraits telling a story of feeling and sentiment.
Do you only photograph weddings?
Although I specialise in wedding photography, I also love to do adventurous couple photoshoots as well as lifestyle sessions. I also have a secret obsession with birth photography if you were interested...
How Many photographs will we receive?
On average, my couples usually receive 600 to 1000 images, depending on the nature of their celebration.
I give you all the photographs that are up to my standard, but a minimum is guaranteed.
What do you need from us before the wedding day?
Upon enquiry I will send you my detailed investment layout where you will be able to choose the collection that fits your needs best. I need a 25% booking fee and a signed booking form to secure your date.
During the months leading up to your wedding, I will assist you in setting up a timeline for your day and help you put together a group family photos list so we can ensure that every one gets photographed.
A list of all your chosen vendors will also be greatly appreciated.
If there are any details ( awkward relationships, surprises etc.) that you need me to know of, please inform me upfront so I don't miss out on anything.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! I am based in Pretoria but love traveling for destination weddings!
Travel and accomodation to a destination within 150km from Pretoria is included in our full wedding day collection.
Please chat to me if I am needed at a destination that requires a bit more travel, I will gladly send you a custom quotation specially crafted for your needs.
Destination weddings outside of South Africa will be uniquely quoted for to accommodate costs.
When do we get our photos?
Post processing is the most time intensive part of your wedding, as we work hard to ensure every photograph meets our artistic standard.
Turnaround time for post production is approximately 8-12 weeks in wedding season.
Are my photos going to look like the ones on your website and social media?
In theory yes, there are certain aspects of my style that are clearly notable in all of the work that I do. I do however have a timeless style, which means, I aim to capture your day as it is happening, bringing out the best of every detail and preserving it in a way that will always be appealing to look at and not fade with trends.
Do you offer Videography services?
Yes, we do offer videography services in-house as an add-on to your photography package.
The main benefit of booking videography with us, rather than another company, is that our styles align perfectly and you can be assured that the day will run smoothly from the get go. Both our photography and videography aim to capture your day in a documentary style, ensuring we don't interfere with each other or disrupt any special moments.
However, I also get along well with other videographers, so if you wish to book someone else, that's perfectly fine.
Do you need to see the venue before the wedding or photoshoot?
I have photographed enough destination weddings to realise that I really don't need to see the location up front. I also feel like it creates expectations, and honestly a wedding day/ photoshoots never goes as planned. I prefer to focus on the opportunities of emotion & actions and just go where that leads us.
How many hours of coverage can we expect on the wedding day?
I only offer full day cover - This could mean anything from 10 to 12 consecutive hours on the day.
I believe you only deserve the best, and that means all of me or not me at all. Bride prep, groom prep, ceremony, portraits, reception, dance, party… the entire experience. I want nothing to distract you from your perfect day or me from my obsessive goal of telling the complete story of your day in the most beautiful and creative way possible.
Do you offer diffirent packages for elopements and vow renewals?
If you require a specific amount of hours, please get in touch and I will gladly customise a collection that will suit your needs.
Can I customise my investment?
My wedding photography pricing is customisable to an extent. You are welcome to chat to me about your budget and expectations, I would love to help and accommodate where I can.
What is your current bucket list travel destinations?
I've been incredibly fortunate to turn what started as a dream into reality. Over the past few years, I've had the privilege of travelling to both Belgium and Thailand to photograph love stories, and each experience has only fuelled my passion for destination weddings.
One of my biggest personal bucket list adventures was finally making it to Japan. Although that trip was purely for the love of travel (and an unhealthy amount of good food), it completely stole my heart. I'd be back in a heartbeat—and if that return trip happened to include photographing a wedding, I certainly wouldn't complain.
My current top five bucket list destinations are:
- Japan
- Italy
- Iceland
- USA
- Indonesia
If you're planning a wedding in one of these incredible places, or honestly, anywhere in the world and you connect with my work, I'd love to hear from you.
Can I bring my dog?
The answer is always a big fat YES!!
Do you back up our photos, and how do we know they won't get lost?
As soon as I get home, all photographs are backed up onto two separate hard drives and immediately after uploaded to google drive.
We can't eliminate the risk of losing photos, but we definitely try our best to keep the files as safe as possible.
What do you wear to weddings?
Naturally I need to be as comfortable as possible for a 12 hour day on my feet, but that doesn't mean we can't do it in style.
I usually opt for an all black outfit, besides the fact that 80% of my closest consists of black, it also helps me to not attract too much attention to myself on the wedding day.
If you are working with a specific colour scheme for your wedding and prefer your service providers to also join in on the theme, you are welcome to let me know and I'll work something out.
What can we do, as a couple, to ensure an epic wedding?
Personalisation is very important in me telling your story. Write your own vows, write letters to each other and incorporate as much of you as possible into your day.
Always consider light. When you are choosing your venue & where you will be getting dressed, make sure there is plenty of natural light, this detail plays a big role in the outcome of your photographs.
Trust your suppliers, don't stress about the small things & just enjoy every moment.
When the wedding is chaotic, the moments are everywhere.
